We have opportunities for Senior Support Workers to join our dedicated team of care professionals at our Westbrook House residential home, Cromer.

At Westbrook House we provide the opportunity for six people with a learning disability to create their own home and is divided into a one-bedroom apartment, a two-bedroom apartment and three single bedrooms.

Communal areas include a large comfortable lounge, dining room and a fully fitted kitchen providing facilities for the tenants to prepare meals and drinks with varying levels of support. The enclosed courtyard garden lies at the back of property and is accessible to all the tenants via the communal areas. Each tenant has decorated and furnished their room or apartment to their individual taste.

The role

Actively support the tenants in a respectful and equal manner in all aspects of daily living and to promote their independence, including, but not limited to: Personal care, activities, cleanliness of the home, laundry, cooking, shopping

Significantly contribute, following the appropriate training, to the assessment, planning, implementation and review of tenants support plans and risk assessments
Be able to communicate effectively with the Tenants using various methods of communication to include; signalong, symbol formats, objects of reference etc

Lead a team of Support Workers to ensure all tasks and activities are completed with appropriate guidance

Support the Manager and Deputy Manager to maintain all reports and records according to company’s expectations and as required by the manager

Represent the service in a professional manner and respond to tenants, relatives and visitors in a welcoming and positive manner

The Person

You will have experience of working in a caring role as identified in a similar environment

Able to lead and to be a role model to the staff team and Tenants

Desirable but not essential to have a Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or be working towards equivalent qualification.

Have a positive attitude and commitment to tenants, their development and the Service as a whole

Able to work independently and follow instructions, be flexible and adaptable to working hours

You will be able to make decisions and act effectively and appropriately to emergencies and difficult situations

Be flexible and adaptable and able to work a variety of shift patterns including alternate weekends on a rotation basis

Employment Details

40 hrs pw. Full Time, Permanent. To include weekends.

Westbrook House is in the seaside town of Cromer on the North Norfolk Coast. It is a vibrant town with a good range of independent shops and well-known high street stores as well as an extensive range of sporting, leisure and educational facilities.

Cromer has excellent transport links including bus, coach and rail services connecting Cromer to local towns and the city of Norwich. Jeesal Group also provides a company vehicle available for use as and when desired.
