The Jeesal Residential Care Services Ltd. group consists of a range of differing service provisions for adults with a Learning Disability and was founded in 1985 by Mr. Jeevaraj and Mrs Sally Anne Subramaniam.

They remain as Owners and Directors of the organisation. Their experience has been with the Health Authority and Social Services since 1974 before entering into the private sector in 1985 and have endeavoured to make a difference in the provision of care for people with a Learning Disability. They are now the largest independent providers for people with Learning Disabilities in Norfolk.

The Directors are supported by their C.E.O. Tugay Akman, supported by Shirley Luke as Director of Operations and Karl Jefferies as Assistant Director of Operations. Jeesal Residential Care Services Ltd. has developed it's profile as a specialist residential care provider over the years. The organisation has provision for generic residential care homes, specialist needs-led homes and supported living schemes. These services are supported by a specialist team of Mental Health Enablers. JRCS Training was founded in 2002 to ensure our staff team received high quality training in the specialised area of Learning Disability.

The organisation is proactive in keeping abreast with changes in line with Valuing People and the Commission for Social Care Inspection. The tenants, staff team and management continually review the services provided to improve life styles and to protect basic human rights as citizens.

Diversification into different areas of provision is undertaken through thorough consultation with tenants, parents, advocates and various agencies involved. Tenants present and future life styles are handled with utmost consideration and sensitivity to respecting human needs.

The motivating force behind the vision is "What I want is a life and not a service" and has been since its creation in 1985. The clients are referred by Norfolk Social Services and from other agencies within the U. K.

The organisation is staffed by experienced Support Workers qualified in NVQ, Social Work, Physiotherapy and Nursing. They come from a range of backgrounds and cultures and countries, Britain, Bulgaria, Poland, Zimbabwe, India, China and the Philippines.

JRCS Training is a sub-division of Jeesal Residential Care Services Ltd. and is an established Training Provider, founded in 2002. We are able to ensure a wide range of expertise, knowledge and understanding of vocational training and workforce development. A trained, qualified workforce is not only a requirement under the National Minimum Standards but is also essential for a successful business. Training staff can be one of the biggest costs associated with running a care home. JRCS Training provides this specialist training to all staff within Jeesal Residential Care Services Ltd. and is also available to external services and companies.

We have developed a sheltered horticultural employment scheme based at Patches Farm. This allows development into the employment sector as outlined within "Valuing People". It also enhances service provision throughout the organisation.

Our newest provision is set to be Jeesal Hospital, a specialist service for adults with a Learning Disability. We have acquired sites at Cawston near Aylsham and Kelling near Holt, both in Norfolk, which will provide high quality support and care. Because these sites have already been used as hospitals, we are intending to have these services running by the Autumn of 2010. We intend to use these services to provide short periods of nursing care when required and allow emergency admissions into the organisation. This will complete our circle of service provision, as demonstrated below.

We have a number of future projects. A new company called "Norfolk and Suffolk Support and Enablement Services Ltd." has been created to enable the development of supported living schemes and service to the wider public.
