Ashwood House

At Ashwood House, we provide the opportunity for eight people with a learning disability to create their own home.

Ashwood House opened in 1999 and has taken an active part within the local community. It is located in the thriving village of Buxton which has a range of services including a post office, several shops, takeaway, horse riding stables and several public houses.

Buxton is centrally located equal distance from the city of Norwich, Wroxham and Aylsham. There is a regular bus service to these areas which alongside the provision of the homes own vehicle allows easy access to educational, social and recreational activities.

The house is separated into two interlinked but separate living areas.

Main House

The main house has six single ground floor bedrooms and one upstairs bedroom with three having en-suite shower rooms. All bedrooms have hand basins and personalisation of the bedrooms is encouraged. The ground floor is fully accessible to those that require wheelchair assistance. There is a ground floor walk in shower facility.

The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped to a high specification. As with all homes it forms a central part for all tenants to prepare drinks, or a variety of meals with the level of support required.

The lounge/ dining area and conservatory are large well furnished rooms that provides a relaxed atmosphere to the tenants that wish to watch T. V., listen to music, or simply socialise.

The garden provides a safe and relaxing area.

One Bedroom Flat

On the first floor, there is a one bedroom flat which has its own independent access. The facilties include lounge, kitchen and bath/shower facility. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped to a high specification.

The flat has access to its own separate garden area.
