At Lilas House, we provide the opportunity for six people with a learning disability to create their own home. This has been achieved successfully since 1991 when the home was opened to provide the level of independence that could be offered to those living so close to the centre of town. A bus and train route links Cromer to a range of places including the City of Norwich, Kings Lynn, Holt and Sheringham. As a large coastal town Cromer benefits from an extensive range of sporting, leisure, educational and community facilities. As a tourist area, there is also a wide range of additional places of interest to visit. Cromer is situated in the beautiful North Norfolk countryside with its magnificent views, walks and inspiration. The service also provides access to a vehicle to enable individuals to access wider resources. The house has six single bedrooms. There are two bedrooms located on the ground floor which are accessible by a wheelchair as well as having an en suite shower room. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped to a high specification. As with all homes it forms a central part for all tenants to prepare drinks, or a variety of meals with the level of support required. The lounge is a large room that is well furnished and provides a relaxed atmosphere to the tenants that wish to watch T.V., listen to music, or simply socialise. The dining room allows it to be used for a range of purposes, including dining together, study and activity area. To the rear of the house, there is a secluded courtyard which allows for relaxation and social gatherings. |
