Philosophy |
The following is the philosophy adopted by all of the services within Jeesal Residential Care Services Limited. The overall intention of the service is to provide for each of the tenants a similar range of opportunities that exist for any other person of a similar age and background. To achieve this the service actively supports a person centred approach to daily life, with the tenants being supported to participate in a range of recreational, educational, social and self-help opportunities. As such the service is underpinned by adopting a non-confrontational approach based on the philosophy of Gentle Teaching. The importance of the individual tenant, their views, wishes and personal aspirations underpin all organisational and individual support practices. As such the tenant is actively encouraged at all times to play a major role in the decision making processes within the home setting. The staff will continually involve the tenants in this process informally throughout the day as well as formally within regular tenant meetings and through the regular support review meetings. The support delivered will be designed to meet the individual tenants highlighted needs. Therefore a detailed assessment process and support plan package will be implemented wherever possible with the tenants involvement at all stages. With the tenants agreement the service will work with the wider multi-disciplinary team to develop the most appropriate support package. The service recognises the importance that families and friends play in all our lives and it will actively seek to play a supportive, open and welcoming approach to all important persons involved with each individual tenant.
