Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

Course Summary: 

This course aims to provide learners with the fundamental knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling of food.

Learning outcomes: 
Identify contamination and cross-contamination hazards to food safety
Explain how contamination of food can cause illness or injury
Explain the importance of personal hygiene and behaviour to food safety
Preventing or minimising the risk of cross contamination
Temperature control
Keeping the work area and equipment clean and tidy
Dealing with hazards and potential hazards
Food spoilage and waste
Pest prevention
Requirements: 

There are no pre-requisites to undertake this training.

At the end of the training, you will be required to sit an exam of 30 multiple choice questions. Papers are externally marked by our Awarding Body TQUK, who also produce certificates. For candidates that do not get the required pass mark, they will be offered the opportunity to re-take at no extra cost.

We request that you complete an evaluation form at the end of the session, as we regular review both the content of our programmes and the teaching style of the facilitator.

Certification: 

All attendees that met the required pass mark will receive a certificate from our Awarding Body TQUK.
